Dentures

The image of dentures has gradually changed over the years, so much so that they are no longer merely associated with that thing your aunt would store in a glass of water on her bedside table. This is a highly effective treatment that can make a marked difference to a person's smile, treatments such as implant retained dentures having taken dentures to a new level. At Cabinteely Dental Care, we offer several forms of dentures to suit all needs.

Partial acrylic dentures

Designed for those who have lost single or several teeth, partial acrylic dentures have the ability to cover the hole in your smile left by missing teeth. Comfortable to wear, there is little chance at all of them coming loose from your mouth as they are bespoke designed in order ensure greater stability.

Full acrylic dentures

Designed for those who need a whole set of teeth replaced, full acrylic dentures are similar to partial acrylic dentures except they are used to replace teeth in greater quantities. The dentist will need to assess the condition of your teeth and gums, in order to recommend what type of denture would best suit your needs.

Chrome cobalt dentures

Made out of metal, chrome cobalt dentures are normally attached to the roof of the mouth. They offer a more sturdy choice of dentures and provide greater comfort for the tongue. With this type of denture no additional teeth are attached if the patient requires this, but the structure of the denture is stronger than the dentures made out of acrylic.

Implant retained dentures

Literally inserted into the jawbone, implants are artificial teeth that are screwed into the jawbone to provide an excellent substitute to the natural teeth you were born with. In order to have this treatment, you will need to have healthy gums and bone levels for the implants to properly fuse with the jawbone. An examination will be carried out to ascertain this. Implant retained dentures mean greater stability and no need for changes in your oral health regime.
